Saffron, often called as ‘Kesar’ in Hindi (Indian language), is a popular and an expensive spice. Its taste makes it great for usage in food, as refreshment and even for making beverages.   • Radiant Skin

Saffron is highly beneficial for radiant skin. It is suggested that one should make a face pack mixing of saffron (2 to 3 strands), milk (3 tsp) and sandalwood powder (1 tsp).  Apply the paste on your face, massage gently and left it for 15 minutes followed by washing with fresh water. It should be done once in week to have smooth and glow face.

 

  • Fair Skin

Soak some strands of saffron in milk for nearly two hours. Apply this mixture on your face. After some time rinse it off. You will see a much fairer skin after this. A Mixture of Sunflower seeds and saffron milk is also great for a fair and glowing skin.

 

  • Acne

Make a paste of Zafraan ( 10 strands) and basil leaves (6-7 leaves). Apply the paste over your face and wash the same after 10 minutes. This application is good in prevention of acne, blemishes, pimples, wrinkles and other black spots from the face.

 

  • Cures Skin Problems

Saffron is extremely anti-fungal and can be used to cure major skin issues. Regular issues like acne, blemishes, and blackheads can easily be removed by the use of saffron. Make a mixture of basil leaves with 10 to 12 strands of saffron. Apply this mixture on your face and let it dry. After some time wash it off with cool water. Acne and pimples will gradually reduce on regular application of this pack.

 

  • Skin Toner & Cleanser

Soak the saffron strands with rose water and you can use it as a skin toner. Mix lemon juice with a spoonful of saffron powder. Apply it on your face and leave it for about 20 minutes. The astonishing properties of saffron will clean your face just like that. Alternatively, you can also use saffron based face packs to achieve possibly same result, if not exact same.

 

  • Treats Dry Skin

If you have dull and dry skin, you can prepare a mask with lemon and saffron. Lemon cleans your skin from deep within while saffron provides luminosity to it. All you need to do is: Mix a few drops of lemon juice with a spoonful of saffron powder. If you have very dry skin, you can add a few drops of milk. Make it into a smooth dough and spread all over your face. Leave for 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

 

  • Prevents Hair Loss

Saffron can stimulate the growth of hair and prevent from hair loss. People who has problem with baldness and have baldness spot can use ground saffron to promote the hair growth. Just make paste from ground saffron and candlenut then apply it on baldness spot for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the paste can be cleaned by rinse it with water.
